The Kelly Dunmire Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to provide a freshman scholarship to a female Roscommon High School graduating senior who participates in sports, has a financial need, a 2.3 (C+) GPA and intends to major in the dental or medical field.
Born in Orange County, CA, Dec. 4, 1960, Kelly was the daughter of William Kay and Marva Jean (Evans) Dunmire. Before moving to Roscommon in 1997, she lived in Lapeer.
She attended Markey Community Baptist Church and was a member of Moose Lodge #1162, Grayling. A leader of the office’s Relay for Life team, Dunmire was active in softball, basketball, volley
ball, golf and bowling. She enjoyed the outdoors, and spent much of her free time fishing on nearby lakes in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. She put herself through college and moved to Roscommon in 1997.
Kelly worked as a dental hygienist at Woodland Family Dental for 11 years.
