Residents and visitors will be encouraged to protect and preserve Higgins  Lake with the addition of signs at eight major  entry points of the watershed.  As use of Higgins Lake and population within the watershed increases the responsibility for stewardship of this treasured natural resource increases as well.

Through RCCF funding from The Robert R .Thalner Funds, which are earmarked for Higgins lake projects and the Higgins  Lake Foundation eight signs have been designed and produced. While serving as a welcome to the Higgins Lake Watershed, the signs will also  be a reminder that all activities within the watershed can impact lake  quality.

The Roscommon County Road Commission has been helpful in planning and approving the project and will be installing them soon.
